Indigestion

Ayurvedic Pathophysiology:

Indigestion is attributed to an imbalance in the agni (digestive fire) and accumulation of ama (toxins) in the gastrointestinal tract

Ayurvedic Diet and Dinacharya:

Favor easily digestible foods, such as cooked vegetables, soups, and herbal teas.
Avoid heavy, fried, and processed foods, as well as excessive caffeine and alcohol.
Practice mindful eating, chewing food thoroughly, and allowing time for proper digestion.

Kitchen Herbs:

Ginger, Cumin, Coriander

Panchakarma:

Virechana (Therapeutic purgation), Deepana Basti (Herbal oil enema for digestion)

Yoga:

Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend), Agnisar Kriya (Fire Breath)

Insomnia

Ayurvedic Pathophysiology:

Insomnia is associated with an imbalance in the vata and pitta doshas, leading to disturbed sleep patterns and mental restlessness.

Ayurvedic Diet and Dinacharya:

Consume foods that promote relaxation and calmness, such as warm milk, almonds, and chamomile tea.
Avoid heavy, spicy, and stimulating foods, as well as caffeine and electronic devices before bed.
Establish a regular sleep routine, including adequate rest and relaxation.

Kitchen Herbs:

Ashwagandha, Brahmi, Jatamansi

Panchakarma:

Shirodhara (Oil pouring on the forehead), Abhyanga (Ayurvedic oil massage)

Yoga:

Shavasana (Corpse Pose), Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

Jaundice

Ayurvedic Pathophysiology:

Jaundice is attributed to an imbalance in the pitta dosha and obstruction in the liver and bile flow.

Ayurvedic Diet and Dinacharya:

Consume foods that support liver function, such as bitter vegetables, papaya, and lemon.
Avoid oily, greasy, and spicy foods.
Ensure adequate hydration with herbal teas or warm water.

Kitchen Herbs:

Kutki, Bhumi Amla, Aloe Vera

Panchakarma:

Virechana ( Therapeutic purgation), Vamana (Therapeutic vomiting)

Yoga:

Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), Dhanurasana (Bow Pose)
